The effects of cyclone Amphan have started in Satkhira.A lot of storms have already started in the coastal areas. People have to get up to speed to take shelter as the storm starts. The storm started at noon on Tuesday (May 19). At the same time, the waves and water level in the rivers in the coastal areas have increased several times. The river water has increased. So far the people of this region have not been evacuated to safe havens.

Shyamnagar UNO, ANM Abujar Ghiffar said the storm has started in the coastal areas. Our team is working to safely evacuate coastal residents. Teams from the Army, Navy, Fire Service, and Coast Guard are ready to assist in rescue operations in the aftermath of the disaster.

Satkhira Meteorological Department Officer-in-Charge Zulfiqar Ali said the cyclone was pounding the coast of Bangladesh at a speed of 225-245 kmph. The effects of the cyclone have already started in Satkhira region. The cyclone is likely to hit the Satkhira coast of Bangladesh first.
